My very unique family.
I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. My grandparents came from Germany and Poland before WWII. We are Ashkenazi Jews. My parents live in Mexico City.
My beautiful, smart, free-spirited daughter Lucy was adopted from Ethiopia. She speaks English and Portuguese but sadly never learned Amharic. She learned to read Hebrew for her Bat Mitzvah.
My husband was born in England. His father fled to England during WWI and his mother was born from Polish parents who fled to Siberia. They live in Houston, TX.
Erik's brother lives in China where he married a Chinese woman and has a biracial child.
We are a very international and diverse family.
I feel very passionately about racial causes. I have compiled a list of excellent podcasts, articles, documentaries, movies and books that help to educate folks about racial issues in America. I also have a 45 minute presentation which I can give at schools and congregations called: "Lessons from a White Person About Racism". Please contact me if you are interested in having me speak in person or by zoom in your institution.
